1. What FastoComplete Does

FastoComplete is a browser extension that provides AI-powered text autocompletion. It can run entirely on your device using local AI models, or connect to a cloud AI provider of your choice using your own API key (BYOK — Bring Your Own Key).

2. Data We Collect

FastoComplete does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. All data described below is stored locally on your device and is never sent to FastoComplete or any third party (except as described in Section 4).

• Suggestion history: The last 1,000 suggestion events (input context, generated suggestion, accept/reject status, confidence, latency, model used).
• Writing style data: Text you send in emails, chats, and messages is stored locally for personalized suggestions via on-device RAG (retrieval-augmented generation). Maximum 2,000 entries with a 30-day expiry.
• Performance metrics: Completion latency measurements stored locally for status display.
• Settings: Your preferences, domain blacklist/whitelist, and provider configuration.
• API keys: If you use BYOK mode, your API key is stored locally in your browser's extension storage.

3. Local AI Mode

When using local AI mode, all text processing happens entirely on your device via WebAssembly. Your text never leaves your browser. The AI model runs locally on your CPU — no network requests are made for completions. Writing style data used for local RAG is stored in IndexedDB on your device only.

4. BYOK Cloud Mode

When you configure your own API key, your text is sent directly from your browser to your chosen provider (OpenAI, Groq, Anthropic, or Google Gemini). FastoComplete does not proxy, intercept, store, or have access to these requests. Your relationship with the API provider is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

5. No Analytics, Telemetry, or Tracking

FastoComplete does not use analytics, telemetry, cookies, fingerprinting, marketing pixels, session recordings, or third-party trackers of any kind. There are no user accounts and no way to identify individual users.

6. Sensitive Domains

FastoComplete automatically disables itself on banking sites (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Capital One), password managers (1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden, Dashlane, Keeper), and payment services (PayPal, Venmo). You can also manually blacklist any domain.

7. Third-Party Network Requests

The only external network requests FastoComplete makes are: (1) downloading AI model files from HuggingFace and WASM binaries from jsDelivr when setting up local mode, and (2) API calls to your configured provider when using BYOK cloud mode. No other external requests are made.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Suggestion history is retained until it exceeds 1,000 entries (oldest removed first). Writing style data expires automatically after 30 days. All data can be exported as JSON or deleted entirely from the extension's settings at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.

9. Children's Privacy

FastoComplete is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
